I know the writer and honestly I have never been so proud of Tony.

Martin Freeman is amazing and it really does highlight the true state of part of our city plus the increased pressure of the human element of policing.

Hopefully it's fully of Baftas because it's based on his life and apart from being an Blue, he really had it hard.

Patiently waiting for a BBC drama set in Liverpool, that doe's not include the following.

(1) Crime
(2) Drugs
(3) Scallies in tracksuits
(4) Abject poverty.
(5) Constant references to the Redshite.

Can you imagine continual dramas set amongst Birmingham's Muslim population, depicting them as terrorists?

Quite rightly we would all be outraged.

It's lazy, stereotypical, and perpetuates the myth that we all spend out time nicking hubcaps.
Birmingham is a strange place! I’ve had to go there a few times recently, it’s a right shithole

I feel your pain, mate and honestly sympathise. Yours sincerely, All of Northern Ireland.

P.S. Thought Freeman was superb in the show.

I think Freeman's portrayal of a scouser succeeds because he also got a lot of the mannerisms spot on.
Accent very good but the " not arsed" facial expressions even when in bother are brilliant.

Only proper scousers can do a scouse accent.
Any attempt to imitate is usually massively overplayed and just sounds crap
This.
Very few can even get near it...and only then for a short time as it slides off into god knows what.
iirc, Rimmer had a decent attempt for a short short time in a Red Dwarf episode, but he had Lister to keep his 'ear' tuned in.

"I like guacamole, except am always wearing trackies" - What the hell is that supposed to mean?

And Ian Hart's syrup? Just why?
