Player Valuation: £750k
I see most of us seem to agree that we need further width up top, preferably a 15-20 goals a season striker. It's either that or a really good playmaker who can make use of our speedy flanks and drifting wiz Saha.

Since the takeover rumours have suddenly gone a bit cold again, and I've browsed a few footballing sites (again) I'd like to put out a couple of names that we'll never be interested in, and who we probably couldn't afford, but who I thought would sound spectacular enough to raise the mood a bit. I'd still like to say they'd be affordable, if we stumbled over a pot of gold or some such.

Olivier Giroud - A tall leading-the-line goalscorer in France for Montpellier. He's been linked with Newcastle which would probably mean that in some obscure way he has actually been linked with us before that.

Adrian (Lopez Alvarez) - Born 1988, signed on a free to Atletico, where he's been a bit of a revelation so far. He's competing with Falcao for a starting berth though.

Anyone else spring to mind? I mean apart from Ibrahimovic, Messi and whoever.

I have no names but I would like Moyes to plunder Europe and come up with a special striker who will be worth 80million in 2 seasons...but the clever thing is we buy his brother who is only 15 but hes the best of the 2 players.

Whats the actual poll question? for me strikers to get in Claudio Pizarro from werder bremen is always quality and giroud looks like he knows where the net is
