The real reason why we're not being bought?

Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Read this morning that over 30% of Liverpudlian households are unemployed, topping the national league table for I think the 7th of the last 9 years.

Could that be a reason behind our lack of a buyer? A feature of the London clubs is how much more income they can get from each fan/customer.

But Everton pulls in its support from the wider City Region, dont forget...this is what the club argued in the Kirkby stadium debates. So you have areas of relatively low unemployment as well as high. In short - it's no reason.

The reason we haven't been bought is simple = We were never up for sale, despite the lies and general shite spoken by Kenwright

Didnt stop the rs getting new owners!

They do have the brand though. We have to be realistic here, it's unlikely that an investor will not want to make more money when he takes over. Evidence suggests that one of the first thing that happens after takeovers is ticket prices go up. Look at United for instance, their prices have gone up a whole lot since the Glazers took over. If the core Everton fanbase cannot be squeezed any more (financially speaking), then that would have to impact upon our saleability wouldn't it?

By the way, Bruce, those figures include households not working because of study commitments and will skew the level of low income. For example, 11% of the Liverpool population are students compared to 7% in Glasgow. Liverpool has one of the highest student populations in Britain.

Birmingham's unemployment is shocking and both Villa and the Blues have had relatively recent takeovers, although the less said about those the better. Would rather be where we are than either of them.

I don't think unemployment is the reason.

Utd's prices though are to see a successful team, with superstars playing in games against other world superstars, plus they could fill the place with out of towners every single week, no matter what they charge.

large amounts of united's support comes from salford, an area which makes Liverpool look like Monte Carlo.

To be fair, I don't think they'd buy us even if they had a job....
