Liverpool Organic Brewery are a good local brewery which does a nice selection of cask ales. I'm a particular fan of their Cascade.

Drank a fair bit of ale from the Tatton Brewery recently as well; not the widest selection (or the most adventurous) but good, solid ales.

I like good solid ales - always a bit wary of beers with a 'taste of honey' or at Christmas with festive spices.

A few good breweries around Bristol and Bath with Arbor Ales being a favourite...

If you ever venture to Southampton then check out The Butchers Hook if you like ales (bit of a trek from the centre but worth it!)

Ever stranded in Dorchester there's a fantastic pub called the Blue Raddle. I happened upon a Dorset cheese tasting night. There's also a Judge Jefferies Tea Room - how the mighty have fallenlol

Three favourites :

Wapping Brewery - Brew under the Baltic Fleet Pub on Wapping facing the Albert Dock.

Rooster Brewery - Skipton.

Coniston Brewery - Consiton.

Yet to taste a bad beer from any of these breweries.

St Austell brewery in Cornwall puts out some good stuff too.

Cains in Liverpool used to do some good stuff, before the owners shut it as part of a big tax scam.

Coniston is nice - don't they do a porter or a stout ?
