Player Valuation: £35m
Hi all

I am spending the weekend in London 5th and 6th November and wanted to get an idea of how much things cost if there are people here who have done the same thing or live there.

There are two of us going and I have already paid for our hotel for the night. I have set aside £24 for our travelling around mainly in zones 1-4.

I plan on going to a nice restaurant on the Saturday evening and following it up around Camden with a few drinks.

I will also need to account for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday will be an afternoon of wandering around and we will be heading home early evening.

I would like to enjoy a few cocktails and spirits and have a good time on the Saturday evening. I have about £176 to spend on both days.

Thanks

Use your contactless bank card for all travel, once you hit the travelcard limit your fare is capped. DO NOT buy a paper travelcard.

Camden is generally quite pricey so can't advise there I'm afraid.

The answer is very much 'it depends'. You can spend a shed load there on things that aren't really very good, but equally there are an awful lot of great attractions that are free.

Unless you're going to somewhere like a Ronnie Scott's that you don't have anywhere else, then I can't see the point of going to a bar here, as they're just the same as anywhere else but twice the price. Your money of course :)

I'd look to minimise costs on things you can get anywhere (like food and drink), and spend the stuff on things that only London offers. If you're into music, for instance, then there are some great clubs around, or you have theatres for shows.

For instance, you could have lunch in the cafe up the Shard and it'd be half what you'd spend in a Jamie Oliver branded restaurant.
