Ive seen this become more and more polarised and intense every year.

Some say the small town right wing ferrets have hijacked it and others say the liberals are being disrespectful to the armed forces past and present.

Personally I think people should heed what the British Legion says that it’s a personal choice. If you wear one as a mark of respect then nothing wrong with it. Likewise if you choose not to.

I've survived and hope some good work has been done, but we need more balanced heads* to make a real difference.

Don't even know why it's a debate. Pay 20p. Put a poppy on for a few weeks and remember the dead. Easy innit.

If you don't buy a poppy or wear one then that's fine. If you refuse to wear a poppy for some ideology belief then that's also fine.

I wear one, my kids wear one but I don't start losing my head over James McLean not wearing one. We will continue to serve the British monarchy, government and people regardless of if anyone wears a poppy.
