Ive not got kids, but if any of my family was stuck in the house id go back in. i wouldnt think of the danger i would want them out alive. for them not to say a lot (if thats what they did)

Too right. As I said above, the CPS don't sound entirely convinced, but feel that they have to prosecute "in the public interest". Some of these types of cases have fallen flat on their faces in the past. I'm thinking specifically of the Stagg one. Not sure they have overwhelming evidence, but are hoping that maybe they have enough to clinch a prosecution.
In fairness though it's difficult to think how anyone else could have been motivated to do this. Strange that the parents got out OK like.
