The trader, also treasurer of campaign group Keep Everton In Our City, now wants Everton to sit down and discuss terms over his rights.

You couldn't make it up

Glad the club are trying to move away from it - much prefer Nil Satis....

Club pays KEIOC some money = club pays for those planes over Goodison. That sounds like a neat trick. (y)

Yeah, because only the best is good enough for those shysters, eh? Now you really couldn't make that up.

Ah, so KEIOC are taking money from the club?

Great, keep it up...

Just my joke mate. By the way, as someone who likes facts I'm sure you'll agree that until you've heard the other side of the story from the feller himself then an open mind should be kept about his motives?

What isn't in dispute, though, is that this club has failed to register the name it was trading under for a huge proportion of it's merchandise and image projection for the past seven years. Leaving aside all other things, how negligent is that? That's a tight commerical ship Elstone and his predecessor have been running, eh?

TOTAL DEBT [£50,931,000 + £33,245,000]
___________________________________________________________
TOTAL ASSETS [£49,321,000 + £15,094,000]

Everton Total Debt Ratio 2008
Total Debt £84,176,000
Total Assets £64,415,000
Total Debt Ratio 131% X 100

Yeah, hes the Branson of the footballing world.

Agreed. But it doesn't look good does it? Just had a nose on Kipper and he has been torn to shreds.

Again, agreed. But the finger of blame doesn't go to Elstone, or even Kenwright - but I suspect rather Tom Shelston (Head of Marketing) and his team.

And now they'll add to their problems as they feel the need to rebrand the club because they're on dodgy legal ground re it's preferred logo...or if you prefer the Elstone spin on the debacle: 'we're dropping The People's Club logo because fans want us to'.

As Danny says 'you couldn't make it up'.

Then you'll have read this explanation from that source from a KEIOC member:

"Has anyone thought that Brian did this for slightly different reasons?

For example having a traders mind as he does he thought he would be able to use the phrase on a variety of merchandise on his stalls. He then thought that Everton might stop him doing this as they have done to previous traders so he went and copyrighted it.

He then went on about his own business and continued to trade on it. Then not long ago Everton tried to stop the traders selling merchandise with the slogan "The Peoples Club On" Brian then brings it up that he owns the copyright. Everton then change there logo"

Sounds to me like he was merely copperbottoming his livelihood from an expected knock on the door from the club and had them off when they tried to do it to them. Now they've thrown a hissy fit and are dragging the man's name through the mud in the pliant local press.

Come on Danny, CEO carries the can

Right. Forgot any blame has to fit the agenda towards Elstone and Kenwright (y)

Sometimes Danny, it really is their fault. If people wish to praise Kenwrong for hiring Moyes, then they must also fault him when other people he has employed cock up.

This is a huge cock up. Im sure Moyes is overjoyed that his words are making some backstreet trader lots of cash.

Elstone and Wyness, not Kenwright or anyone else. I mean it's not that difficult to grasp really. Maybe we should blame the tea lady or Fred the doorman for this embarrassing corporate **** up instead?

Seven years without registering it. Good grief. There's plenty of business minded people on this forum I'm sure will be shocked at that incredible lack of acumen from a company turning over £80M pa.
