Since everyone has been asking has a team ever gone through an entire season without getting a penalty I thought I'd let you know that I found this little gem - and it won't come as a surprise to learn which team is the recipient of this piece of history.

Everton 1 Spurs 1 March 1st 1972
Henry Newton scored Everton's equaliser from the spot - ending a TWO YEAR break since Everton's last penalty in the league... so about 84 games.

good post, i was kind of wondering that myself, do we have the record for going the longest then?

Part of me doesn't want a penalty now. It would be an interesting talking point if we were to go the whole season without one and would raise some questions about the decisions we've had this season. I think I'd actually be a bit annoyed if we got one in the last game(although obviously not if it meant 3 points and 5th place!)
