the bbc didn't bid enough, and skys £10 mil bid took the event off terrestrial tv for the first time in 60 years.

One of the great sporting events, I went to Hoylake last year and Lytham in 2012, it's sad that it won't be on bbc anymore though, wont be the same without Peter Aliss commentating
