Welcome back Wayne
With the death of Jack Bruce, it makes you think of all the great musicians we have been privileged to see and hear, from Hendrix to the Stones, Black Sabbath to Janis Joplin.....so no kiddy bands,no boy bands, no modern day wannabe's....who are your favourite acts or performances from the true greats.........

Saw Van Halen supporting Sabbath at Preston Guild Hall
Sabbath blem 'em away

Saw Led Zep at Knebworth

Saw Deep Pruple Mark 3 somewhere, though I forget exactly where.

Wish I'd seen Hendrix, anywhere really.

On a more serious note, as creaking bones take over, I go to gigs now which I might not have bothered with 15 years ago, mainly because you just don't know how much longer these folks are going to be around

Saw Ian Dury on his farewell tour, same with Wilko Johnson ( f'in miracle there ).
Just to show what sort of eclectic tastes I have, went so see Bobby Womack at the Phil on a whim really, marvellous gig, and then he went and died :(

Make the most of these guys lads, nothing lasts forever ... except Everton obviously.

Damn, tough one. Where to begin?

Van Morrison, Stones, Robert Johnson, Harry Chapin, Bob Segar, Buddy Miles, The Who, Fleetwood Mac (with peter green), Cream, Slim Harpo, Bowie, Johnny Cash.....

I could go on all night ffs.

Great thread Pete. X

Best gig, well most memorable, was Ray Charles at the nynex in Manchester. (June 96)

Still get goosebumps thinking about him singing Georgia.
Was sat in front row slap bang in front of Ray. Absolute legend.

There's actually a local radio contest going on right now for a paid trip to see The Who at Goodison Park opps, I mean Echo Arena, for some 50th anniversary thing. Wouldn't mind winning that.
The Who @GP.

I would die a very happy man to have witnessed that.
