So it's snowed a bit over the last couple of days and the TV has prophesied the end of the world.

How many of you made it into work today and how many stayed in bed?

What's the worst conditions you've braved to get into work in?

Most other countries that get actual snow laugh themselves silly at the UK losing it's mind over an inch or two of snow.

The weather is not an issue, most people are just hilariously unprepared for it. Winter tyres on your car = you can drive.

Also people still leave the house at the same time for their normal day to day stuff and then fume when they end up massively late.

Just leave the house a bit earlier ffs.

To be fair Trees Scotland has been doing ok keeping the the major roads and transport links open, I'm fortunate enough to be enjoying some winter sun for the first time on holiday and I can't believe the reaction to the snow from English authorities, it's like aliens have landed.

Equipment to remove or cope with snow is expensive. In the often snowbound areas world, it's worth the money.
In Britain, it's cheaper to accept a few days of reduced productivity.

Absolutely this. We don't really like fit for purpose essential infrastructure in England more generally so we're hardly going to go all out for snow contingency stuff.

Works on an individual level too, I'm guessing most folk take the risk over buying winter tyres etc.
