Is on for a one night return tomorrow, not sure who is on but I'll be watching. There has been some fantastic music on that over the years, times when people played proper instruments live on TV

Anyone else planning to watch?

Bob Harris was on the Steve Wright show , today , talking about it . Didn't catch it all , but he mentioned showing classic clips .

Whispering Bob was on the radio last week trailing this, some previously unseen recordings he said...must tune in. Never missed it back in the day.

yeah bbc4 at 9pm tomorrow, I've set it to record as I won't be home from work til after the start.

It was a great show in the 70s when there wasn't much else for fans of good music .

It was quite eerie though watching a live band playing to an audience of one (Bob Harris). The rest of Television Centre seemed closed for the night.

with all the channels available today it could be revived, a platform for old-fashioned bands, playing stuff live, singing live, writing stuff themselves. All kids these days think about is a catchy dance move to go with a crap ear-worm tune

..absolutely. I saw Whispering Bob Harris being interviewed on BBC Breakfast yesterday and immediately recorded the programme.

BBC4 on a Friday night usually has some good music, will defiantly record as I think it clashes with the rugby.

Can only think of a few bands who would be comfortable with the OGWT format, Foo Fighters, Manics for example.

I remember it being for smellies and grebos with huge bin lid badges and big Rush sew on patches on their canvas satchels, then they would show a bit more avant garde stuff and then punk and new wave. Half crap music half me being ignorant and immature about other music
