The next age of government

I decided today to not vote Labour.

Though, I'm also not voting Torie.

That means I probably won't vote.

Totally agree - I grew up through the thatcher years, and thought nothing could be worse than this - enter new labour - cue the first government to imo to send us backwards and skull *uck the country in the process - never been so disillusioned with politics as I am today.......... no matter what their colour red, blue or yellow:lol: or even green :lol: in the end they are in it for themselves and their own ends.

Has anyone actually watched the video or is everyone using the fact that it was David Cameron saying the words as an excuse to bash Thatcher?

i'm in class now so i'll check out the lecture when i'm done but i just wanted to comment that TED has quickly become my favorite website. i didn't hear about it till late last year but i made it my newyears resolution to watch a different ted lecture every day this year (on average). i've lagged behind recently on that goal but i've still learned a lot.

TED is a very, very good website and they nearly always have some interesting videos to watch. I'm a big fan of emergence as a means of providing order to complex systems, of which of course society is one, so thought this was interesting.

Did you even watch the video?

Bad teds them.

she also liberated many people from the shackles of local councils by allowing them to buy their homes. In other words to have a stake in the country and perhaps realise some asiprations. For many it meant they could do simple things like change the windows or front door or even paint the house without waiting for however long it would take the council.

wouldn't have been so bad if they had replaced them when they sold them, a great many had never paid a penny in rent themselves but then found enough to buy them for next to nothing with a huge discount. now that to me is giving assets away, and now there are hardly any of them left to rent which means the gov. are paying private landlords and effectively their mortgages.
