Every year, girlfriends and wives across the country think they have won, but time and time again, it rears it's head to steal away their men. The Barclays Premier League is once again, set in motion.
It never really stops, with spill over from the old season taking us into transfer window and pre season, then straight back to the next season. But whilst the mighty Everton do not play until monday, today is where it really begins again. With 14 Premier League teams in action today across the country, everyone will be hoping to get off to the best start.
Everton, who as you know do not play until monday, have had so far, what has seemed a strange pre season and transfer window time. What with a small amount of pre season games due to a trip to Indonesia canceled. But also, the lack of players going out, and the promise of new players coming in.
Rodwell has gone to City for what is being reported as £12 million and rising with add ons, Yobo has gone, Cahil has decided the MLS is the right place to see out his career and that is pretty much it. With the fears of losing key players such as Baines and Fellaini being fairly strong at the start of the window, we SO FAR appear to have come out quite well. We have brought in Pienaar, Naismith and are reported to be bringing in Mirallas and possibly M'Baye Niang. ( Ben Mclaughlin, a young irish defender has also signed in a smaller deal, with Barkley looking like he is going out on loan for experiance )
Tim Cahil has moved to NY Red Bulls
Steven Naismith has signed for Everton
So, if these players complete their reported and promising looking signings, and we keep hold of our key players, it COULD be a promising season for The Blues. How ever, one can never really fully expect a strong start to a season from Everton, it is good to be optimistic.
