The New Messi

In this case it actually was Chelsea's fault, well Mourinho's anyway, drilled him with defensive duty and killed his creative spark, that and the injuries.

Always liked Joe, thought he was a great talent that i wished we had signed when he had the chance.

I don't think anything went wrong really, he was a very succesful part of a very succesful team under Mourhinio and and sadly he didnt fit into anyone elses plans afte rhe left. Liverpool didnt know what to do with him as he didnt fit into their plans after a few months and by then his career had gone a bit sour.

One of those players, along with Robbie Keane who i always wished we had signed

Was he actually ever any good? Remember that goal for England?

Had a bit of a purplr patch for Chelsea for a few seasons but other than that hasn't done much with his career. That said lots of injuries made life difficult for him too.

I've got loads of time for Joe Cole. The lid absolutely loves playing football and that's all he was ever interested in.

Good luck to him.

I actually thought he was really good when he was at West Ham the first time. A frustrating player who never lived up to the hype.

"Messi can do some amazing things... But anything he can do Joe can do as well, if not better."

Guess who?

Probably should have stayed in France really, 'Arry may offer him a reprieve if he's knows his agent well enough.

I suppose it's more likely he'll be off to the footballers retirement league along with all the other has beens and might of beens. God knows where all of these over the hill millionaire footballers would be without the charitable donations of the MLS helping fund their extensive tattoo collections and diamanté covered cars, still probably slightly more honourable than stealing a living as a pundit on MOTD.
