The new Kevin Brock?

Lightning never strikes twice, and a sad indictment of Silva's reign that people are getting that desperate.

...the difference with the Kevin Brock incident is that there was a team infrastructure just awaiting a spark. That’s not the case at this point in time.

On the other hand, we have seen the effect that JP's mistake had on the whole club... The team plummeted from heroes to zeros so there just might be the opposite effect. Especially in light of our derby record and the fact that a win there will unite everyone at the club. All of the infrastructure is there and just needs tweaking.

Remember the Coventry home game when they were booed off the pitch? That was the start of a great run. Including the Coventry game we went 14 games unbeaten until the Villa 2nd leg game. We only got beat 3 times in 26 games (that was Villa 2nd leg, Liverpool final replay and Forest away). We had truly turned the corner but the wolves and Coventry match we looked as disjointed as we are now and couldn't see a way forward. Just glad the board did not listen to the fans to sack Kendall. Great times at the click of a finger, the process of change happened that quickly. Not saying it will happen now but you can only have hope

There were green shoots in a couple of gsmes that gave a slight belief things could get better, the Fa cup defeat at Old Trafford were a young blues team went head to head against a strong United side

Yes that was the season before and we had a bit of belief in them come the 83/84 season. All turned sour until after the Coventry game New years eve.

I think a few could see the side taking shape, they just lacked something, self belief, confidence,a leader, maybe a bit of luck, I was at the Leicester/Everton game we lost and there was a fair bit of trouble in the ground between blues arguing over Kendall in or out, even carried on on the train home, you could see why both sides had a point, fortunately he was kept on but I cant see this current lot showing the same turn around

Personally I didn't see a team at all. They were like now, not a team and a bunch of disjointed players who didn't know what they should be doing. Take this season for example...we were not too bad until the Liverpool game so you could say we had the green shoots but for one reason or another the wheels have come off and we look half the team we were earlier on.

There's one of these moments all the time if you are willing to grasp it. I unfortunately tend to @Eggs viewpoint that we will not take any spark offered to us that could bring us to life. Players who can grab those chances consistently are few and far between. I think that we have quite a few players who would spring to life if one or two of those chance takers showed up on the pitch.

Who knows, though, one of them takes it and it all starts again. I for one am always surprised that it was Inchy Heath who capitalised. Not Reid or Gray or one of the characters who were larger than life, but little unassuming Adrian Heath who wasn't really ever first on my teamsheet. But he took that moment on. Little Bernie, I'm looking at you!

Oumar Niasse was our Kevin Brock when he rose like Lazarus to get back into the team under Koeman to score twice turning a loss into a win. It was a boss moment.

We should have pushed on from there but typically of us we wasted it and now seem to be looking for Brock moments every other week.

Was 10yo standing in the kitchen listening to it on the radio with my arl fella when we scored that history-changing goal. He was necking cans of bitter. That's all I remember about it really.

And speaking of bitter. Will be sat up in the Top Balcony tomorrow with my now 82yo dad as per, and he'll be absolutely livid if we take anything off City!
