The nets

The title of the thread reminds me of when at 16 I joined a mens Sunday league team. At the end of our opening match of the season the manager doled out jobs for team members. Kit given to one player to wash, one had to take the corner flags and one got the first aid kit etc. He then turned to me and said "Stuey you can wash the nets this week". So I started to gather them up to bag them and of course I was slaughtered!!! Ribbed for weeks on end after every match.

I read somewhere, or had a dream, that darker nets were better psychologically for strikers, made the goal seem bigger and the keeper seem smaller, swear Moyes spoke about it, or as I said, a dream.

So are we decided on bringing back the white nets and blue gravel? Dad used to tell me they were Everton stones. Also while we're at it can we bring back the big scoreboard that clapped? Loved that!!
