As usual on GOT the manager thread has descended into a certain level of discord, albeit driven by groups of very vocal posters

Arguably the Moyes out folk are more active (notable posters @davek @jceverton) with a notable pro-moyes vanguard taking defensive action (@JobForTheMoyes and @Kevsleftpeg )

Sorry if I've left anyone's contributions to this enthralling debate out.

Anyway, I'd like to quantify sentiment as when loud groups start off it can be hard to see the bigger picture.

I think your summary is perfect and my aching head is the proof in the pudding..

No middle ground in their, just out for blood carnage.

The only logical answer is "he'll do for now". Anyone who thinks he is the manager to take us beyond mid-table or the occasional Europa Conference League spot in the long term is insane. He won't win us a pot but he won't have us near the relegation zone. That's OK for this season but if he's still our manager in two years time it will show that our new owners have the same ambitions as the last owner who gave Moyes a lengthy tenure.

Voted as soon as I got in without reading & hearing about his press conference, don't like these polls but may change my vote.
I so want him to do well though & we can't keep changing the manager surely.

I didn’t want him in the first place but getting rid now makes no sense. I’d like him to calmly steer us to mid-table this season and then be ushered out without a fuss to accommodate a more progressive manager that we’ve actually researched and recruited over time in the background as part of a coherent footballing strategy moving forward.

FL;DR: Welcome, Big Ange

I think one of Everton’s biggest struggles in the decade has been the squad is assembled of different players from our endless list of managers.

Hasn’t history taught us that changing the manager does not change the fortune?

Moyes is a manager that guarantees safety and could solidify us in the midtable if not Europa conference. After the past 5 years of relegation scraps, we should be grateful for that.
