I would say no but then I'm single. So perhaps do the opposite?

The real question is why is she insistent on you going with her? I mean are other's bringing their partners or does she genuinely really want you to go?

Not my idea of fun. Bladdered women talking shop and slating anyone from work who isn't there to hear it. Then if that someone turns up later on it's all hugs and kisses and they join in with slating somebody else who hasn't come. All just talking over each other and not listening in what seems like a deliberate attempt to misunderstand one another and cause a screaming row and fight.

Drama EVERY time. Cannot be arsed with that.

If she gets home late and bladdered she usually can't remember anything and is full of apologies and remorse the next day. I take the high road and not only offer forgiveness but nip out and get her a Maccys for the hangover.

If the boots on the other foot it's 4 or 5 days in the doghouse for me of course:(

Mrs. Tree's colleagues are, by and large, a lovely bunch. Balanced mix of males and females in the workforce and partners are invited to a variety of events over the year, so I've certainly been to a few Christmas parties. But having said that I'm in the same line of work as her and would jump at the chance of getting a post at her place, so perhaps I'm biased.
