Looks like it worked for me. I could see them winning the premier league or even grabbing 2nd, if you told me that 5 years ago....I would have lol'ed in your face. Sure, we're Everton and no one can buy spirit. But, that **** is getting old and each year we move closer to midtable mediocrity. Now in the great form of an internet meme ....I bet Manchester city fans are feeling like this...

Hey Premier League,

'kin depressing really. If they'd have built up with a solid business model and invested in youth I wouldn't feel so bitter. Instead they've got lucky with owners who are willing to jizz their black-gold (AKA Oil money) on players and wages. Having said that, the deal they did with Manchester City Council probably helped in their quest to get new owners - nice new stadium to tempt them, no expense needed there!

Well, no - they have bought success, which when they win the league won't be with anything like it should be.

But fair play, and congratulations to them

They have owners that pump money in = just not cricket
Our owners have not invested one penny in ten plus years but cling on for a massive share sale payday = good for the game

I don't understand the people who say they would hate us to be like city. At the end of the day football is entertainment and thats why we go. (although at the moment its blind faith). I would be over the moon watching some of the best players in the world playing great football every week. and i couldn't care less if some arab bought it or not.

I said as soon as they where taken over it would take 4 or 5 years to get it right they seem to be more or less on track fair play to them they may have bought the title that seems to be in thier grasp but they've bought well and have a good man at the helm, one who they seem to be giving time to change the team round to his way of thinking, unlike chelsea who fire managers at will.

For me i would have no problem with a moneybags man coming in it would have to be better than scraping round like we're doing at the moment as Harry says football is entertainment maybe BK should remember that when he sanctions another great signing like Denis Straq.

Distasteful. Plastic. Greedy. Unethical. I could go on.

I'll never have anything other than utter disgust for Manchester City. They took an already bloated gluttonous sport and raised it to a new level of excess in the middle of the worst global financial crisis since WW2.

Great football though

Unfortunately the past and present Everton owners never latched onto the 'Premier' dream like the others and now with a bleeding heart I think we are dearly paying the price.
City were late, although luckily for them their owners knew what it took to get there, so fair play to them.

Bottom line is; money talks.

We are yet to find out what the aftermath of doing what they are doing is though. Same as if Roman 'get's bored' at Chelski, where exactly would it leave them ?

Everybody has been waiting 5 Years for Roman to get bored.

It wont happen and if it does, they are now a big Club with LOTS of assets, so it wont be a problem.

At least we aint City/Chelsea hey lads, its great having the best Evertonian in the World in charge.

/waves goodbye to Rodwell, Barkley, Fellaini
