Resigned to mediocrity
Would have been 74 today....
Saw him at Milton Keynes Bowl ‘Serious Moonlight’ tour 1983.
Highlight was Cracked Actor in red robe singing to a skull.

I’ve tried but can’t pick a favourite song from his back catalogue (too many and it changes through the years)
He must have left an impression on some of you good folks.
What was your favourite song/memory/ story about the one and only David Bowie.

I hated him as a kid because the mate I used to have z kick about with on a Saturday always wasted some of the time playing an album beforehand while i waited at his house.

In retrospect the music seeped in - and his spiders from Mars and ground control have yo be some if my favourite songs of the pop genre. There are others too but I have a terrible memory for names, just ideas. Like his early stuff mostly - clearly a unique and great talent.

A very long story short, I was due to watch Bowie from the wings of Glastonbury Pyramid Stage in 2000. I gave my AAA pass to a photographer I was friendly with thinking I’d have no probs getting onto stage. I couldn’t get past security (what was I thinking !?!) but did end up watching out front quite close to the stage. The best performance/gig I’ve witnessed by 100 miles. Grown men crying during Life on Mars. Just fantastic.

Wow, major bummer, that would have been one for the memories..
Least you still got ‘kinda’ up close and personal.
