Does everyone do the lottery? If not why not? Found it strange in work today that not many do it, tried to rock up a syndicate and that went down like a lead balloon.

I seen someone filling in a paper slip this morning and found that well weird. Maybe because I am only 30 so a young buck but I do it online or just ask for a lucky dip in the shop. The national lottery I don't bother with but the euro millions always drags me in with the massive pay out at the end.

The new set for life game is only a quid fifty and is a different idea.

Thoughts?

Stupidity tax.

The way they kept making it harder to win big money was really poor. The change in the odds from when it first started, about 14million /1 is now 45 mil /1

All the profit goes to a Canadian pension fund, it's a joke.

Branson (Virgin) offered to do it with ALL monies going to good causes but the government gave it to Camelot for some reason. I dunno when the license is up but surely it needs changing.

I ain't giving them a penny of my hard earned.

Camelot got too gready in the end. Ticket prices of £2 and £2.50 for the Euromillions whilst increasing the amount of numbers is a joke. No one ever said before that lottery is just to darn easy to win!

If you play both draws per week that is 208 sponds per year, if it went back down to a pound then I might think about it.

2023 when it will be put out to tender.

Only Euromillions since they changed The Lottery, the prize for Euromillions after 1 draw is bigger than Lottery after about 5 rollovers. And yes I would need that much as I have 3 kids that I would also want to make millionaires.

Syndicate won a tidy amount once.
About 7k each.
Great at the time.
Bot the £2 a ticket and extra balls means less chances.
Always had the odd 3 /4 numbers before the changes.
It's a fix by the way .

I play from time to time. I know it's stupid, but I have a 1% rule for insane high risk investments. I haven't yet initiated my plan for the other 99% of investments because Mrs and Junior Yarrgh spend it before I get chance.

Never played it, never so much as bought a scratch card. The idea of voluntarily buying a random ticket with hugely negative EV is just completely unappealing to me.
