Saw this great band at Folkestone this week on the first night of their current tour. Such a fantastic band live, always giving their all, and this gig was as good as any the many times I have seen them down the years. The support band was The Selecter, all back together again and an inspired choice to get the place up and bouncing from the word go. I so much prefer these small venues to the seated warehouses, 2,500 packed in, tickets £25 and beer affordable enough at £4 a pint. The next night they played Cologne and there was me worrying about how I was going to get my acheing carcass out of bed to drive 10 miles to work.

Used to love 'Levelling The Land' ...didn't know they were still going.

Very much so and they are the same band as they have ever been. There is already an acoustic tour planned for Feb/Mar 2015 in addition to this tour.

The only thing that has really changed is the 'new age' element among the following suddenly upped and left a good decade ago and the audience is now more mainstream (apart from the old ska boys along to watch The Selecter, in their pork pie hats and black Fred Perry polo shirts). The car park had more than its fair share of BMWs, Mercs, Audis, Land Rovers etc in it.

What does swampy drive now?

Back in the UK from 11th November for about a dozen dates, marketed as a 'greatest hits' tour, 20 songs from their heyday and the whole place goes mental.

think I've seen them at Glasto too actually, think they had a popular song out on top of the pops at the time

possibly 92'ish, thought it was later though

They were on there a few times in the 90s mate.the 92 gig sticks in my mind cos it was earlyish in the day and I wasn't bladdered

At the Glastonbury one, they put a lad in an inflatable boat and sent him out over the crowd during 'The Boatman'.
