The La's - There She Goes (Pre-match)

Norwich fan here in peace (obviously).

Just watched a YT video of the fantastic send-off you guys gave to Goodison. The sirens and Z Cars were as spine-tingling as expected, but wasn't aware you played *There She Goes* pre-kickoff?

Was this a one-off? Or part of your regular pre-match playlist?

That's all.

Anyway ... good luck for next season, and enjoy the new stadium. Looks amazing.

One-off mate. There is a clamour amongst some to make it a regular thing at the new place, partly because Lee Mavers from the La's is a massive blue, and partly because it did go down a storm with all the dads singing away merrily.

I'm all for it myself.

Good luck to yourself in the post-Delia era. I love her recipe for scones by the way.

Cheers guys. Appreciate the responses, and the nice comments about City and our new head coach. You're both more positive than me tbh, although Delia's scone recipe is a dream :)

I look forward to the day when we get to visit the Hill Dickinson (but will probably have to be in one of the cups).

Shame the song isn't part of the playlist ... sounded great (for those of us of a certain age).

ATB.

A lot of people share your sentiment in wanting it as part of the pre match ritual.

Another suggestion has been similar to what City do with Wonderwall/Roll With It (what one is it again?) after they win and play it at the end, which thematically fits with the song a lot better.

Issue is we’d have win for it to play :hayee:

It was sang before the last match, our beautiful ground drenched in sunshine with the track playing over the tannoys and sounded amazing.

At Newcastle people sang it in the away section without the track playing and it sounded crap, out of tune, sections of the crowd out of sync with others.

Personally I'd like to see it kept for special occasions and not just played/sang routinely, that gives it a bit of immortality as a memory of our goodbye to Goodison.

I'd like them to change it.. Start new, It would be better to have an anthem that fans can sing along with words rather than an instrumental where fans sing DO DO DO along to the tune.

Nothing to do with anything in here really, but my 8 year old lad has an irrational hatred of Norwich. I have no idea why but he thinks you're are the worst team in the world and nothing will convince him otherwise.

Sorry.

For the record, I think you're alright.
Maybe they watched them turn around and bend over for the RS one of the umpteen times they've done it.
The last beat them in '94 and have only 2 draws since, conceding 60 and scoring 18.
