Welcome back Wayne
When did you first get involved or started to use it. I first experienced it while a Telecomms design engineer in 1974/75 when it was mostly used as a way or transporting data between universities and the USA and U.K. . Wiki has quite a good history of it….

So when did you discover/ use it……..

At uni in 1987 a proff showed me what an email was. Remember thinking "that could be handy... so long as I'm writing to the only other person I know with a computer."

At home in around 1993-94 I got a modem attached to the 386 pc I'd built 2 years before and signed onto a bulletin board for shareware. Was amazingly exciting to see words pop up on my screen real time as somebody replied to a message. (Geesh they were slow at typing!).

Around 1999 I was chatting about music to someone in India (somehow) who recommended a similar artist from the US who was unheard of here in the uk ... i managed to find the artist's website and ordered a cd. I remember thinking right then how small the world had become.

I remember getting my first desk top at work and going in early to catch up. I started watching (searching) porn (was a teenager) and my boss walks in just as a full screen pop-up comes on for “petsex.com” with an image of a man bumming a goat.
I had a nightmare trying to explain wasn’t my choice watch

well, this alters the landscape somewhat....

Worked for BT back in the early 80's. Email became a thing so the regional managers would get their secretaries to print off each email, hand-write a response then have the secretary type it into the computer. They also had tea ladies and a drinks cabinet so it was very strange by today's standards.
sounds like 'madmen'.

This was what the internet was made for.

Not the monster it is today.
