people will think we are crazy but I totally agree, the universe is too vast for us to be the only living intelligent organisms.

Some of the stuff on those Ancient Aliens programs are bloody mental, tin foil hat stuff, but there's more evidence for visitors than there is for The God per se.

If other beings have visited us, which I personally believe as well, they are extremely advanced in technology just the sheer distances they would have to travel to get here are immense.

The Universe batters my head it's huge. I've been watching a programme called unravelling the Cosmos our own solar system would take so long to reach the edge of and we are but a blip in space, crazy mind blowing stuff.

Mad innit?

All sorts of things could travel that sort of distance, beings of unimaginable make up, millennia life expectancies etc, perhaps a 100 year journey was a blink of the eye for them? Absolutely fascinates me.

I get why Prometheus got shot down as a crap movie, but I loved it.

*I don't think Prometheus is real btw.

Believe in greater beings, but not a God as we know it.

Call them aliens and we might be on the same page.

Sounds like that History Channel nut, but there most definitely is more intelligent life out there than us nutters.

Are you lads familiar with the Drake Equation and the Fermi Paradox?

Sort of.

Regarding the Fermi Paradox, perhaps they saw us and decided "F it, they're too uncivilised, they're like a virus, where's the next nice stop?"
hehe, yeah quite possibly!

My thoughts on this is that the Universe is likely pretty heavily populated with basic/microbial life, complex animal life somewhat rarer (think how long the dinosaurs were dominant, possibly still would be were it not for the mass extinctions and possibly largely unchanged), and then sentient technologically sophisticated life rarer still.

The upshot of that is a situation that I think somewhat resolves that dichotomy (Drake vs. Fermi), the vast scale of the universe that mathematically makes other civilisations almost inevitable, also isolates them from each other, possibly permanently.

If I was a religious man, I might even go so far as to say that would be pretty smart piece of design!

A cross over of beliefs? Say it ain't so :P haha. No reason why there can't be either.

Great, now I'm going to go to bed with these puzzling and amazing thoughts flying around my brain.
