anyone watch this last night, absolutely brutal and the first time in 70 years it's been shown

basically the footage shot by the Allies, some of the Russian stuff too, when they discovered the concentration and death camps such as Auschwitz and Dachau and the horrors within

this here's just the trailer for it, but the whole doc's still available on 4OD

thoughts ???

saw it last night

some of the images of the dead bodies and the mass volume of them were quite disturbing

they literally starved all of them to death

some of them that were alive looked like walking skeletons

shocking wasn't it, don't know why but I was shocked by the amount of female guards who were involved in this awful crime.I can only imagine they weren't given much choice either by their superiors

it was shocking mate, this is what all the bands of brothers stuff was based on, only this was real

Aye. I went to Auschwitz in 2013, if you're ever in that part of the world I fully recommended the visit, somber atmosphere as you'd expect only spoiled by smiling twunts taking selfies.

A truly harrowing piece of cinema, but in a wierd way and despite the horrific scenes it was compelling viewing.
The Freddie Knoeller diary the other evening was also well worth watching as a young Austrian Jew fled to Belgium and then France, joined the French Resistance and was shopped by a jilted lover and ended up in Auschwitz. Gripping and graphic story.

I would integrate the entire footage into the national schooling system to ensure each and every sixteen year old in the country.

It may be harrowing. It may even sicken them. Hopefully though, some of them will then realise what racial hatred and bigotry can lead to.

Unfortunately, this kind of horrific stupidity has happened on multiple occasions after 1945 and still happens today.

Not to the same scale, but akin to some of the atrocities in Bosnia, Kosovo Iraq and many others. Mix in Uganda, Rwanda et al.

Again unfortunately, I've seen enough .... in my time to not be particularly phased by the stuff shown last night. The World is a horrible mess.
