It's out on December 13th, can't wait.

If I remember rightly Legolas isn't in the book? Oh well had to pad out the book for 9 hours of film somehow.

Looks good though

Yeah, and the female character doesn't exist in the Tolkien universe....

Had Tolkien seen her:

I'm sure that he would have penciled her character in...

The first film was utter crap, like an extended Power rangers cartoon.

Looking forward to watching Filth on the weekend though, love that book.

I don't like Filth. It's like Irvine Welsh parodying himself. Easily my least favourite of his books, along with "Ecstasy", although the third story in that redeems it a little.

Probably still go and see it though like.

I should be seeing it this weekend, will post a review of it.

Yeah, but seeing as he's the Elf King's son, you'd imagine he'd be floating around.

Jackson's adding **** all over the show in this, some of it canon from other books, some of it his own weird ideas, it'll look great and be a good watch, but I can't help but wonder why he continuously tries to rewrite one of the best stories ever published, a group of books second in sales only to The Bible. Just baffling.

Didn't enjoy the first film, doubt I'll enjoy the rest, but it's mainly due to the fact that I read the book first and the amount of padding and nonsense going on is just too much for me to ignore.

It's cool seeing the characters and scenes from the book come to life, but the rubbish in between, I try to ignore they ever happened, same with Lord Of The Rings.
