Yes, please. Still a year away though ffs.

My Grandad read this in bed to me when I was six and I bought me the Lord of the Rings for my seventh which I read myself. He had individually read the Hobbit aloud as a bedtime story
to his four children, my sisters and I and also some of my cousins. On holiday when he used to lead a massive party of us through through forests and countryside he told me he used to imagine himself as Gandalf. He passed away last Christmas and had an passage of Lord of the Rings read at the funeral. Rest in Peace.

Sorry to bring your thread down Burnsy.

RIP Grandad FD. What a story, that.

Big Geeky Tolkien fan me so really looking forward to this

Frank your Grandad sounds ace, lots of good memories there ... RIP Grandad Frank

I know it. I think the fact that it's got 6.5 million views in three days means we're not alone.

I can only hope that it lives up to, not just the LOTR movies, but the book. It's in two parts, no?

I think the Balin looks a bit naff!! big fan of the Tolkien books, the dwarves look a bit over the top silly......hmmmm looks good though!

Amazing how a thread on GOT can conjure up ace memories of happy childhood moments

RIP Grandpa Drebin

It really is. I'm hoping this movie creates ace childhood memories like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy did for me. It's a chance for the young to experience and the old to reminisce (and enjoy).
