Before last night's final pre-season game the press were unaminous that there would be a backlash against Lescott.

I didn't go with any intention of booing him. Although like most people on this forum resigned myself for the worst and was very concerned about the implications of such a transfer... He's 2 players for the price of 1 you know!?

Lescott got a huge cheer when his name was read out and a chorus of: "There's Only One Joleon Lescott" as he changed ends before kick-off. I was by the director's box which is very close to the pitch and clearly saw him getting emotional.

I still think he wants out, but having watched Moyes' post-match interview I'm convinced he's going nowhere in this transfer window. I wonder if The S** would print that story with as much gusto?

There's clearly an adenda by the media to knock this Club down. The fact all Evertonians applauded Lescott shows again how great supporters you all are.

Unfortunately, we're in the age of utter tittism. Papers, TV, internet everywhere is paranoid bullshit. The papers are more under threat from the web so their stories have to be more sensational to compete.
Just buzz off it, we've got the soundest team we've had for beards and the media don't like it. They prefer clubs like City and Spurs and all the other assorted ********s that make up the league.
But thats cool. Were much more handsome.
Onwards Evertonians.

An agenda? It's not unrealistic to have expected him to be booed. Who honestly expected him to be cheered?
Theres no reason for him to be booed. The reason that he was cheered particularly on that night was to give the middle finger to all those douches who think we'll just turn on a player because the media want us too. We're way above that and when this transfer window closes we'll all love Lescott as much as we did 6 months ago (y)

I disagree there's plenty of loons and idiots who support everton like there are any other team. So it wouldn't have surprised me if he had been booed.
