The greatest moments in World Cup history using SUBBUTEO

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2014/subbuteo-world-cup-history-created-3668195

An artist has recreated famous World Cup moments – with Subbuteo figures.

Terry Lee has crafted David Beckham’s ‘98 red card, Maradona’s ‘86 hand of God goal, Terry Butcher bloodied in an ‘89 qualifier, Pele and Bobby Moore’s ‘70 Mexico shirt swap and Holland’s Nigel de Jong’s 2010 kung-fu kick of Alonso.

The 31-year-old dad, from Exeter who now lives in Brazil, made his first Subbuteo artwork in 2011 to recycle broken players.

Now he is selling them worldwide.

His favourite is Brazil players’ rocking the baby celebration at US ‘94.

He said: “I fell in love with Brazil that year, and especially Romario - they had such a great team which included the likes of Dunga, Aldair, Bebeto and Zinho.

“I have been very fortunate as Romario actually has two Subbuteo pieces of mine - one of the ‘Rocking the Baby’ celebration and another of himself holding the Brazilian flag.”
