Player Valuation: £70m
How many times do players look absolute world beaters at a club and then move on dont look anything like the players they were.

Fernando Torres is the obvious one when he left that lot but who else can you think of?

Suarez not quite living up to his fee at the moment.

Erik Lamela who was touted as being world class at Roma again is struggling at Spurs.

Pienaar at spurs? Arteta at arsenal?

Is this the big signings thread or the tits who forced a move and their careers went tits up thread?

Veron at Utd? I didn't follow them with avid interest but I seem to recall the general consensus was that he was a complete flop.

Jeffers was the one I was going to say

Rodwell too.

Christ remember how good Shevchenko was at AC Milan, then he went to Chelsea and was turd.

Still slots for fun though, and Blackburn is a slight step up from Huddersfield.

Aye but there were better clubs he could have gone to for his ambitions. Remember Jenkys have relegated and stuck blackburn into midtable in the championship , not exactly the right club for a player who was probably one of the best lower league talents in recent years.

Our success is seldom isolated to just our talent but a consequence of the environment we're in. So for footballers it includes the players they're surrounded by, the tactics of the manager, the country they play in and all that.

I think sometimes we forget all that when judging players, managers and so on.

True. Hence why Barkley needs to leave, there's a good player being held back by a poor manager and poor colleagues. He'll flourish at City or Chelsea.
