"next week, someone comes along and..bingo...your transferred"... he wants out. judas.. just [Poor language removed] off to Chelsea then

I'm watching it now. I'm up to the part where Labone says "when you play away, it's up to the home team to take the point from you. If you get a point away and 2 at home, that's championship form"

I can understand that in the 60's but not in present times now its 3 for a win.

Moyes was daft playing away for draws sometimes

If you win all your home games and draw your aways, thats 76 points, we would have finished 3rd.

Oh yea he was in Scum wasn't he! I remember him in that as well.

It's mad to think this was nearly 50 years ago!

My Dad was born in 1948 Pat so this was his era. Alan Ball was his idol and his biggest regret was not meeting him. He went the games in the 60s/70s/80s went to a couple in the 90s but doesn't bother now. "It's not the same" he says haha.

He actually mentioned this show to me but he just described the opening scene. Then I found it and he was made up.

Makes my heart melt when that little girl says her dad is Alex Young and he plays for Everton.

yeah it's well before my time but I love stuff like this

the generation before me, like me dad and his mates all loved alan ball from that era

but the generation previous, say my grandads and what have you, all seem to say alex young was their fave,

would loved to have watched the toffs during that time, great days so it would seem
