The future could be Bright (if we get there)

Player Valuation: £225k
With all the doom and gloom around Everton I wanted to look at the future and see if it really could be good for us. Discounting the fact that if we get a bid of over 20mil for any of our youngsters they will probably be sold, how do you rate this as a team of the future? Especially as Moyes keeps saying that is what he is building for.

Howard (Keepers hang around for ever)
32
Coleman Heitinga Duffy Baines
22 27 19 26
Fellaini Rodwell
23 20
Drenthe Barkley Gueye
24 17 21
Vellios
19

Silva 21
Baxter 19
Bily 26

I don't know how good all of them are, but I am sure some on here do.

Without wanting to sound too negative, if we did get near Europe with those players, half of them would be sold on before we'd make the next step.

Which is a shame, as I still firmly believe a squad can achieve something by building from the basics and sticking together a la Everton in the 80's if given a chance. However, if a bid of £10m comes in for anybody then they're on the way out, so we have no chance of that happening.

Plus, Silva is allergic to England.

Vellios did well again. It's different starting games but he's shown alot of promise in his cameos, dating back to last season. Decent pace, good touch and he's what, 6ft 4? Looks like a really good find. Magaye Gueye also impressed me against West Brom, showed some good skills and linked up well. It'll be interesting to see what position he ends up in, he sees himself as a second striker.

Rodwell is still a work in progress but he's put some decent form together of late. He made some excellent raking passes against West Brom in the first half that reminded me of why he was so highly rated in the first place. It's definitely a confidence thing with him, all the attributes are there, he just needs to express himself on a consistent basis. Hopefully we will see that now.

Rodwell has restored my faith in him in the last few games. He doesn't look far off being able to boss the center of the park. If Liverpool start with Lucas and Adam in the derby I hope Fellaini and Rodwell dominate them, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to.

Wouldn't include Heitinga and Bily in a bright future thread...

Howard's a great goalie and will hopefully stick around for a long time to come, after seeing Mucha  i'm praying he stays fit.

Gueye, Rodwell, Coleman - all prospects. Coleman on a bit of a dip in form after his injury, and I think other teams are onto him now and can handle him better than when we first used him so isn't impacting as much as he used to on games. Rodwell is getting there, albeit, a bit slower then I originally expected. Gueye impressed me against West Brom.

Barkley and Vellios are the most exciting for me. Perhaps because I have only seen them for short spells and yet to see their faults. But both of them have played some great football when they have been on. Can't wait to see them develop. The real test will be when Vellios starts.
