Didn't see the programme but I bet Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh, Alan Hudson and our own Duncan McMagic got a mention :)

I have to say that even though an Everton fan, I had a soft spot for a lot of these players, George Best and Charlie George in particular.
As a kid growing up in the late 60s/early 70s the skill level of George Best was amazing as well as his "life style". He famously said, when asked where all his money had gone, that he spent it on wine, women & song and the rest he had squandered!
I can still remember Charlie George lying on his back in Wembley after scoring the winner against Liverpool (yesss!) in the final. With his long hair and swagger, he was the complete antithesis of the boring Arsenal player. Anyone remember him scoring a hat trick against Real Madrid for Derby County. He got 1 cap for England!

Frank Worthington. Nailed on.

A fella that takes his grandson to my lads footy is mates with him, they were at Huddersfield together as apprentices (Trevor Cherry as well), FW failed a medical at Anfield as 'something was found in his system that shouldn't have been there.'

Hi Goal for Bolton, set up by Reidy where he turns the Ipswich/England defence inside out is timeless imo, future Bolton Captain Julian Derby is the ball boy leaping around as well behind the goal.

was interesting to see how they were regarded by the England set up. cant believe the no. of caps they all received.

Robin Friday has to top the lot of 'em. So basically it's Footballs Mavericks who happened to play for the bigger sides and we have some footage to show you from the 1970s.

Think it was Stan Bowles, had a call from England Manager (name escapes me) to get down to Lilleshall, has he had been selected for England, "sorry, just got the ladders out to paint the outside the house".
