"The Fast Diet"

I've lost almost two stone since November. I was 16 stone 4 when I started. Used to play a lot of footy but injured my knee. I've been going the gym 4 or 5 times a week, and cut out some Crap from my diet such as crisps and white bread.

I do about twenty mins to half an hour weights and sit ups then an hour cardio aiming for about a 1000 cal burn on the cardio.

I really think this is a permanent thing for me now. These crazy diets are people just wanting a quick win. It's almost certainly going to end with the weight going back on unless it's used as a catalyst to get a quick start to a change of lifestyle.

You might find this interesting:

While a Gluten free approach is Dailey new in the UK, up to a third of Americans are actively trying to either cut down on their consumption of it, or avoid it totally.

Gluten sensitivity and leaky gut also go a long way to give an explanation for why some people are obese despite eating a moderate diet, and also why others who are not 'weak minded' in other facets of their life, might appear to be so with regards to diet. Gluten can cause uncontrollable cravings in some.

I agree regarding your comments on sugar, I'm pretty sure they'd ban it if it was discovered tomorrow.

I also remember reading fairly recently that there's a link with sugar and depression. If I can find the source I'll post it. It centred on brain chemistry and how sugar obliterates and them replicates certain facets of our brain chemistry that regulates the feeling of happiness, and explains why depressed people often find solace in eating sugary things.

Mind you we never have all the answers as a peptide called hypocretin also seems to be key to out feeling of well being:

I wonder how long it will take for the peptide to bit the market

Yes Sugar is bad enough, but the HFCS that is used as "sugar" in almost everything today is many times worse and is actually a poison to our system.

I think, just with everything that is politicized, to truely understand the problem you must have a historical understanding of how and why we arrived at where we are today. Our current upside-down way of thinking about food is based on 40 years of misleading information.

Thanks for posting the video, think we're reading the same books/ sources mostly. Not seen the video though, puts some added perspective onto what I've read so far
