What's the farthest place on the planet that you have been to from your home ?

in the air doesn't count (astro excepted cos he will have co-ord and shiz), underfloating doesn't count as the USS Turtle will be classed as 'american soil' and fighter jets are miles cooler than submarines.

So we'll go for the 'actually touched land and maybe done a bodily function' as the rule.

for myself it would be probably Timaru on the South Island of NZ which according to this distance calculator

is 18931.707km from my house or 11763.617miles

apparently 12,400 is the farthest you can get from home, which I'm not sure would be on land ? I could've maybe eeked out a couple of hundred more miles but I've pretty much maxed that clock out. I now regret not going to Invercargill to watch the Crusaders which proves the old adage that it is always worth going that extra mile.
 

Furthest away from my home for me is Ho Chi Minh at 5291 miles. Seriously need to travel to more exotic destinations.

well it would probably also be somewhere in nz for you as well, and believe you me the 'exotic' tag doesn't sit comfortably with Timaru. In fact if described as that the locals would be in uproar as they sup their crates in 'the back room.'*


* most pubs in nz have a very sparsely furnished back room which is always busier than the front, and crates are dispensed from the bar....... wear a gumshield ffs.

1st week there we got invited out with the lads at work and their wives, I pointed out that it looked a bit of a dive, "nah, mayte, it's a femily pab eh"

as we stepped out of the taxi a bloke was poleaxed with 1 punch and we had to step over him, 3 brawls between the door and the bar, ffs there were crates flying round and all sorts, we were ok though as we were with some local legend 'qtr. master in the local biker gang' and I even got to abuse a r/s* without any grief cos of the company.
*Who surprise surprise was the local loon but hey, how the feck was I to know that apart from the rag he was adorned wioth.

Well in. Scouted the globe a bit and yes looks like the furthest decent place would be in .nz, and while antarctica would be an experience, can't see myself going there during my lifetime.
 
Scott Base would probably be the farthest for most of us in the uk.

just downloading the sequel to that movie (what becomes of the broken hearted), when 'once were warriors' came out it was criticised for the level of violence but then held the accolade of 'the most accurate portrayal of the inner city Maori male' that had ever been done, 'arl Jake there is a bit different to in Shortland st. eh bro.
