The facts dont support the notion we've slipped away from the top 6

Bit of an arbitrary cut off point.

A 38 game season suggests otherwise. We all know the squad quality is fine; consistency is the big issue.

One win isn't sufficient to don the cap of smugness sir.
Arbitrary?!!

I think many people recognise New Years Day matches as a measuring point to analyse second half of season performances.

So you're comparing effectively less than half a season to a full campaign.

Reality is we finished 11th over 38 games. If you looked at a calendar year and come to a conclusion, maybe you'd have a point, but you're using a bit of a season and ignore the majority of one to make a silly point, off the back of one win in the league.

Fine. Ignore it. But the second half of the season to this point proves we are keeping touch with the teams others have (illicitly) placed above us on the basis of a poor season.

"top 6" - they weren't in it.

It's a guide to judge whether we've slipped off the pace of what we would see as our peer group.
But you can use the same stats to say how far we've fallen behind Leicester city as their 2015 points are way ahead of us.
Let's just use the table for judging the team before we go full RAWK and start a 'kin "Par" table.
