Jamie Vardy 28. One season in the top flight, 5 goals. England call up.

Gabby Agbonlahor, 28. 9 seasons in the top flight scoring 5 or more goals 7 times. No call up.

The spot is only open because of the three lads in the u21s but if anyone deserves a call why shouldn't it be a lad who's played his heart out for his hometown club for nearly a decade and not the current flavour of the day, Roy of the Rickie lambert rovers player?

It seems that if a player has a couple of good games in the Premiership he is deemed good enough for an England call up. I was always of the opinion England,or indeed any international side, should pick the forwards who are scoring goals. I'm not so sure a couple of good games in midfield or at the back makes you an international class player. Personally I think the picking of these players is devaluing the international cap.
Having said that I'm a Northern Ireland fan, we would be happy with a squad full of players who have had a couple of good games in the Premiership provided they retained their desire to play for the shirt.
