i need one of these, anyone know a laymans website where i can educate myself on these special satelleites?

Watching Ebepton channels is still bad, right?

I can't get Sky, but I want to watch more football, and I'd like to know sneaky ways of doing so!

I've read it, but what does this mean to us the public??

I don't think so much to the normal man in the street but more so to pubs who want to show matches. It costs a lot for a pub to show football via Sky which I'm guessing this cuts out.

I've heard that some people can watch the football via streaming on their PCs so you don't need Sky anyway. In fact the game the other night against Arsenal was TV quality. Not that I would do that just something I heard.......

you're a model citizen mate.

Does that mean the pubs can pretty much choose what games they want instead of just putting on what's on Sky / ESPN???

Sky has been a terrible influence on English football. You can argue that we have more choice with watching matches, and they have pumped a lot of money into the game but it could have been done with much more of a light touch. It is no coincidence that only 3 clubs have won the title in the past 15 years, compared with 7 in the prior 15 years, never mind the absolute oligopoly on the top four positions. Do one murdoch, and pipe your super sunday up your arse while you're at it. All this "best league in the world" is crap too. It's great if you support one of five teams, and pointless for everyone else.

I wonder if it will have a significant impact on Sky's revenue and therefore the money they pay to PL clubs?

That is likely long term I think. If people start hooking these decoders - and they will now its deemed legal - they will have to drop prices to compete. Although they will still cream it in from advertising, prices will hopefully drop for us. I guess this will have an effect.
