The End of obscurity?

Well the last couple transfer windows has got me thinking have we seen the last of moyes taking punts on obscure talents?

You look at the likes of gueye vellios Silva ect they where all fringe teamers in some pretty shocking leagues in Europe.

Then you look at our signings since January whilst unproven in the premier league they were more mature, important first team regulars or gone off the boil.

Gibson had quite a few games for Manchester united. Jelavic was banging them left right and centre in the Scottish league. Mirallas was probably the best player in Greece and gave teams a scare in Europe. Vadis odijia ( I know we didn't sign him like but we should of ffs FIFA) was a Brugge regular. And Oviedo had played a lot of games for Copenhagen.

Whilst they are all unknown qualities before the transfer they all seem to fit in nicely bringing me back to my original point. Has moyes changed his transfer outlook?

Gueye, Silva, Vellios, were bought to be developed, they weren't meant for the first team right away. Lots of teams buy youngster like them all the time.

I would say Oviedo is pretty obscure, can't imagine to many people had heard of him before Everton :/

we're always going to have obscure signings whether they are youth players or not, that is what scouts are for.

Francisco Junior was a pretty obscure transfer in February. So is Oviedo, as slimspek says.

Moyes didn't really have to go obscure as he had the cash from Yobo, Bily and Rodwell, and the wages from Cahill to buy some less obscure players. If Rangers didn't go bust we would have had very different transfer market since January.
