I did a search and couldn't find anything for our best friends.

Sadly what prompted me to create the thread is that one of my lovely German Shepherds died suddenly overnight aged 11.

She was a fantastic dog, and was in great form as late as yesterday. Having had many dogs over the past 45 years, she was one of the best. My other two dogs are moping and bewildered as is the BR family.

At least it was quick - probably a heart attack - which is a consolation.

Maybe this thread can be used to share stories about great Evertonian canines past and present!

I love dogs, have my own at home.

My dearest sympathy for your loss.

I’ve never experienced it but it’s like losing a child I believe.

I love GSDs but the current lad will be my last. He's as good as they get, great with kids, not nervous in the slightest but not a shoithouse if he ever needs to turn the noise on. He's been really bad on his legs the last couple of days, couldnt get him to a vet though. Not looking forward to the next few weeks. Losing your furry mates is horrendous.

Sorry to hear, they become a part of the family, 11 years is a fair stretch of time.
