New poster, but because I'm so disheartened by the club I love I thought I'd straight down your alehouse.

So, it's the third and final of Nolan' take on Batman is starting to gather pace and casting was announced yesterday for the roles of Catwoman and Bane, to be played by Hathaway and Hardy.

It was no secret Hardy was attached to the project, it's been known he was going to play a villain for some time now. But Bane? Bane was completely unnecessary in Batman and Robin and was just an awful choice. Hopefully he will be used in a far more subtle manner. I don't worry about Harvey though, he was one of the many delightful surprise packages of Inception.

However Hathaway as Catwoman, imo, leaves alot to be desired. First of all the character of Catwoman wasn't really on my radar as a Nolan type of character. He always seemed to tackle crime in a very realistic light, from a comic book adaptation anyway. Also there is Hathaway, she just doesn't seem damaged enough for me. I would have liked to of seen him team up with Marion Cotillard again maybe.

All things said, his casting is usually spot on and I remember a few furrowed brows when he announced Ledger as The Joker, apart from his diet of prescription pharmaceuticals and Gin he didn't do too bad, did he.

One things for sure, now that Nolan is stepping back from the franchise I'm super excited about the Aronofsky rumours the he will have a crack at it!

Can't wait, personally.

I love Nolan's films, and as a fan of the real Batman (the dark, gritty, Adam West-less one), I always appreciated the darker edge he's taken with these films. The Dark Knight for me was one of the few massively hyped films which actually lived up to the hype.

As for Anne Hathaway... she's a good actress, but she doesn't scream Catwoman to me. However I'll reserve judgment until I've seen it.

I'm really pleased to see Tom Hardy play Bane though. Bane is my favourite Batman villain, and he really hasn't been done justice on the big screen. Hardy was incredible in Bronson, and I think he's going to be a good choice.

I cant stand Batman, whoevers in it so i have little to no interest in the film but Anne Hathaway is well fit and easy on the eye

Hardy as Bane came entirely out of the Blue. I didn't think Nolan would use him as a character, but I think the final outcome will be a far cry from the comic version. Agreed with Hathaway, I don't really see her pulling off Selina Kyle. Though I thought the same thing about Aaron Eckhart...

I'm excited about who will play the 'other' rumoured female lead too...

Good times ahead if you follow team Nolan

Fact is, Bane in the comics is awesome. I think, in this Nolan version he is going to do something special with it. And I have no problems with Hathaway as Catwoman. Some of her work since she started taking more adult roles has been dark. This has awesome written all over it (I am so happy we are now finally getting superb Batman movies after enduring the Schumacher era)

The Joker's great and all, but Bane is just the ultimate badass.

I have the graphic novel that documents Banes creation, and it is just bloody brilliant. Then I also have Knightfall, the story of his hunting Batman, then finally breaking his back. Chilling stuff (ofc Bruce does recover and gets life back to 'normal' in part 3).

Absolutely hated the Bane from Batman the Animated series and then that god awful version in B&R. Terrible!

Batman and Robin was just a terrible film, full stop. *shudders*
