Whilst the spectacle of Ben Haim et al on huge wedge is of course a horrifying one, it should be pointed out that the people who issued the demands for them to take a pay cut - ie Portpin and the honest businessmen associated with that company - are themselves largely to blame for the mess in the first place.

Why should Varney or Kanu cut their wages just so someone else can nick the money? Its not as if it is going to save the club, or even pay off some of the actual creditors.

Add in an institution like Rangers falling and you can see how vulnerable we are down 5 mill a year and players being our only saleable assets - it's massive minge.

My impression is no-one is really that arsed, it's as though all the devotion and passion fans historically claim for their club is now bollox, when push comes to shove they can watch wrestling or go on fartbook.

Wonder if we'd shrug our shoulders and say "tw@ts anyway!!"

Happened to Bristol City in 1982. Had been relegated from Div 1, had 8 players on large, and long term contracts, and the players agreed to rip up the contracts so the club could be saved. Hasnt done them much good though!
