Utter Cad.
When I was a kid, the only time there was alcohol in the house was that Christmas fortnight you had off school. Peanuts and liquorice all-sorts in bowls, a cylindrical carton of 100 JPS ciggies on the sideboard, tinsel around the wall mirror and a little trolley (known as "the cocktail cabinet" for some reason) laden with a bottle each of vodka, gin, Cinzano Bianco, Martini Rosso, Advocaat, and some mixers, plus cans of Long Life bitter and lager of some description and some soft drinks for mixing.

These days my folks are right pair of old soaks and whisky is their choice of tipple.

Anyway, we're going shopping today and will be getting the bulk of out Christmas booze in. Already taken delivery of a case of Spanish reds (though half of them have been polished off already) so today it's going to be:

Bottle of Talisker single malt

Bottle of fino sherry

Bottle of manzanilla sherry

Bottle of Oloroso sherry

Bottle of wodka (for Bloody Mary's)

Bottle of vermouth

A dozen or so assorted British bottled ales

(will stock up with cans of Żywiec lager from our local Polski Sklep nearer the time)

What's going into your booze shopping trolley?

Amazon review of that Meths bottle:
From the moment you remove the cap you realise you're in for a treat. Fresh, bright, smoky, with a mineral edge and rounded, fruity nose. Midweight and bold, possessing some edge and no little bite, yet remaining smooth, balanced and satisfying. This is a drink to enjoy with friends in a park. Highly recommended.

Hmmm nice list

I'm off to Cornwall for a week over Christmas, I've been told I've got to come up with a Cocktail for each day....so I'll be needing a lot of booze.

I'm gonna start tonight ha ha ..... had a shattering week working and then staright home and decorating til late at night... should be all finished by tea time today though so the beers will be flowing tonight.

As for xmas, there's only me who drinks in our house so it'll be just a case or two of lager, a bottle of Bacardi and probs a bottle of Morgan's spiced....with a little bit of coke in there somewhere too.

A man after my own heart. On a normal year.

This year I'll be waiting for my wife to go into labour, so I'll have to limit myself to a mere taste of Bunnahabhain 12 yo single malt.

Exciting time mate...all the best to you and your's !!!!!! I bet you don't call it Jesus if it's a boy.
