The "Buzz"

I am sat here trying to kill a bit of time and now I notice I've spent 20 minutes on YouTube just looking at all and anything Everton. I find myself singing along with some fan chants, youtube songs etc and I realise it's the first time in years that I feel like the 'Buzz' is back with us. I don't mean the on-field performance or the general love for Everton, just that "goosebump" feeling that you get when you watch stuff and the feel-good feeling that you get. Even when we had some good european games under Martienz (Wolfsburg x2, Young Boys away), good wins but just no real buzz about it if that makes sense.

I've felt a bit disconnected with Everton for maybe two or three years. I've had my season ticket, I went to Dresden in the summer but still didn't really feel the same feeling you get just from watching anything Everton. Even though we had a frustrating window (still a good one), it still feels like we are meaning a lot more business, more ambitious perhaps.

Has anybody had a similar experience? For me it feels like Everton are back both on the field and as a club as a whole. I'm only 25, so 'back' for me means being decent again, some of you won't consider us 'back' until we are winning trophies I suppose.

I can't describe it fully, that 'buzz' is just back for me. I can sit for hours sometimes and watch Everton on youtube, even the days before I was going (I was too young for 95) and take it in. I haven't sat down in years done that. Maybe a combination of Moyes' negativity and Martinez stubborness poured water all over that fire.

Maybe im talking rubbish, I dont know :)

The buzz you describe is a sign that you have now been
dewigertonised. Martinez has left your system...welcome back mate!!

Interestingly, I had a trophy awarded to me when I was 7 playing for my local u11's team for POTS.. Who was it given to me by? Roberto Martinez. He was a player at Wigan at the time.

Random.

Martinez first season and then signing Lukaku had the same buzz to me, but years 2 and 3 were awful.
I was going to say exactly that. I'm raising 2 Blues and I'm more seeing Everton through their eyes. There is only so long I can preach the good word to them, they need to see it for themselves. I didn't even see it, I was too young to appreciate the 80s, not even in double figures when we won the league.

The last few years I have made Liverpool a holiday to look forward to for them. Jungle Rumble, Underwater street, Chavasse Park are all essential leisure time for us.

But there is a buzz now, a small yet gathering pace and volume buzz. People are beginning to talk about us. Yesterday a colleague asked me about our new waterfront ground. We are starting to become relevant again. Something is happening and it feels good.

Been talking about this with my mates recently, we're dead excited for Saturday and that's usually normal but it's just about different right now.

It's like the buzz before the first game of the season but on a weekly basis.

I'm just waiting for the earth shattering disappointment.

There was a buzz under Martinez. The summer after his first season, the big European wins, Wolfsburg twice etc... can we please stop with the rewriting of history now?

Martinez came in, had a boss first season and had us playing boss football. Then he got found out and wouldn't adapt and we went into sharp decline until it cost him his job.

Right now I'm optimistic and happy with the progress being made in what is really a transitional season. I actually don't have 'the buzz' yet.
