Only just seen this but David Moyes has suggested changing the EFL cup to include clubs from Scotland, Wales and NI, personally think it's a good idea, make a few interesting away games and could be good for the club's with not much money

This is after someone from UEFA said the competition should be scrapped, obviously to keep the cry arses happy about fixture congestion

I'd like us to win the league cup before it's scrapped or changed though FFS, but it should defo be kept and maybe a change is what it needs

The idea of including Scotland etc is quite a cute one though, in my view. I like it.

Rangers and Celtic would have to enter at the same level as the 4th division sides obviously, not when the 1st division sides like us come in later.

Yeah, don't like that UEFA are suggesting getting rid, if sides like Liverpool and City don't like the fixture congestion then let them opt out or something, there is a lot of clubs in that competition that won't ever get a sniff at European football, so to suggest that those fans should forgo the chance to win a trophy or a day out at Wembley is a joke really

Moyes in sticking up for his Scottish roots shock.

He might fancy going to an away in Glasgow in the middle of winter, but most civilised people would swerve it at that time of year.

Would just mean more rounds and the same 5/6 teams would still reach semis every year like they currently do. And if they ever altar it to remove the sides that qualify for Europe that would make it a pointless trophy, another Intertoto Cup. Nobody gives one.

If you want to make the league cup more interesting I'd change it to have just 32 teams, all picked randomly via a computer every season. 12 from the PL, 10 from the Championship, 5 each from Leagues One and Two. If one year the competition is very weak then at least you can point to it being the luck of the draw, loads of clubs win trophies because of being gifted easy pathways. It's just the knowledge of knowing that good teams were at least in it at one stage that makes it worth something. All quarter-finalists removed from the following years' draw, would mean all clubs across the pyramid would likely get fair amount of gos.

It's either the British League Cup with English, Scottish & Welsh teams or you'll have the UK League Cup if you include Northern Irish teams.
