Aye, you're probably right. But I suppose equally he probably doesn't offer enough more than someone already in our ranks on a lot less than that. Guess that's the question. What will spending that extra million or so a year get us? Moving up 1 spot in the league would probably pay it back. Is he enough on his own to ensure that?

No, he wasn't worth £70K or £75K a week. I said as much myself. Moyes has made the correct decision.

And it's not just the fact that he's not worth that much. It's also that it would unsettle the whole club. If he strolls in on more wedge than everyone at the club, what's that going to make the likes of Fellaini, Baines, Cahill, Jags and so on think? Players who've been integral to the team for a few years. He'd end up costing us a lot more than £75K a week, when you think about it that way.

And this is why, even as someone who's been wanting us to sign him all year, I'm quite happy to move on.
