How crap are the echo?

I am currently in work and apparantly they have shut off London road and the area around it due to a gas leak. Right ok, i go on the echo site to find out what is happening as i work very close to the area and you know, i want to get home today.

All they are showing as shots from the area is basically pointing at the police at the top of the road by prescot street / Dauby street. So basically the pictures and videos from the scene are not actually the scene and just of some policemen being told to stand there to stop cars coming down the clearly one way road anyway which means they don't need to be facing that direction .

but i disgress, do the echo actually do their reporting by just asking people nearby? I have seen stories before of things where again they have used somebody said this rather than actually do some real news reporting. So what is the point in them reporting this breaking news when they don't have a clue and don't do anything about it to keep people informed bar asking a smackhead nearby?

Who should they be asking Ash ?

The Police at the scene won't talk to them, as they aren't allowed to, due to them being Liverpools version of the S*n and misreporting stuff in the past.

So until there's an official press release they have to ask anyone they can get hold of who may know something.
